Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team and support the learning and development of all students, including those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Responsibilities

  • Providing academic and emotional support to students, including those with SEMH and SEN, both in the classroom and on a 1:1 basis
  • Collaborating with teachers to create and implement tailored learning plans for students with diverse needs
  • Facilitating inclusive and engaging learning activities for all students
  • Assist in the management of behaviour and emotional support for students with SEMH
  • Establishing and maintaining positive and supportive relationships with students and their families

Qualifications

  • Experience working with students with SEMH and SEN
  • Knowledge of adaptive teaching strategies and behaviour management techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Relevant qualifications and/or training in education, special education or related field

Day-to-Day

  • Providing academic and emotional support to students with SEMH and SEN
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of individualized learning plans
  • Collaborating with teachers to create inclusive and engaging learning activities
  • Supporting behaviour and emotional management for students with SEMH
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with students and their families
